Term 4: Week 1. Excursion to Fossil Cove

I went to Fossil Cove. It was fun.
The walk down to the cove was very long, Elias was so so so slow.
I saw some caves while we were walking down.

It was very exhasuting, but it was fun.
I saw the beach and thought it was very rocky.

I started to look for fossils, I looked and they were everywhere.
Look at these photos. Each one I took. The first one is a sea urchin. I found it all by myself.

Here are some shell fossils.

This one is my favorite. Isnt is good?

 A seaweed fossil

Someone got trapped by the water and they had some matches in their pocket and they made a fire. The tide must have come in.

Elias screamed the whole time.

It was very adventruous. I explored lots.
Thankyou for reading this blog.

Tony's story COMPASSION

Tony was a man from a different country who came to talk to us about when he was young and how he struggled to survive.

He used to play baseball. He used rolled up socks as a ball and tree branches as the bat.
At school when the other kids played baseball he sold popcorn to make money for his family so they could buy food. When he was little he wanted to be a firefighter.

Tony's  dad was thanking God for the food and there wasn't any food on the table. Tony had his eyes open just incase a chicken fell down from heaven.  Then someone knocked on their door and gave them green bananas. This meant that they could eat cos there was nothing on their table.

Tony felt that Jesus wasn't looking after him and then he realised that Jesus did love him and care for him. He learnt this through all of the letters and encouragement from his sponsor family.

Tony is not poor anymore because of his sponsor. Sponsoring a child helps them survive.

Term 2, Week 3

I had to write step by step how to make hot chocolate, for someone who has never made hot chocolate before. Mum made it and I had to see if it was nice and it was a bit too rich. Next time I would do half of a spoon of cocoa. I drank it all.

I had to stick bones onto a person with glue, a paper person ;) It was fun! Knock knock, who's there? A cow. A cow who?  A cow goes moo.

I had a visit with Catherine. She wrote notes about my work. She asked questions. Mum was scared, she was frightened of the lady. I was very good and sorry it is time to go.

Term 2, Week 1 & 2

I got a worm farm. Mum bought it for me. I put dirt, water and leaves in it. I got the worms from the garden. I look after them everyday. I can see worm tracks when I look at it.

I did some measuring. I measured lots of things, like the piano, my drumstick, a lamington.

I did an Autumn painting. It was very tricky. Mine was bad, the tree branches were really hard. It was a picture of Autumn leaves on a tree. I copied it from a painting we found on the computer.

Here is my Autumn Poem:

Autumn is great
It has a great taste
Lots of walks
Leaves fall
Sculpture trails
Leaves Whoosh
Sorry, Autumn is gone.

I ran in the school cross country. It was lots of fun,  I got to talk to Samuel. I did two laps, it was very exhausting. After the race I got a super duper.

Week 9 and 10

I did painting. I painted Jesus on the cross because it is Easter next week. I used waterpaints, lots of different colours. It was fun. I took some photos of it, you will see them on this blog. I used the Canon and Mum used the Nikon.

We did a lego foot measuring activity in Maths. I had to build lots of blocks together. I guessed that my foot would be 20 blocks and it turned out to be 21. I guessed mums would be 18 and it was 26. Me and Mums feet must almost be the same size. I guessed LiLi's would be 9 and it turned out to be 15. For Dad I guessed 40 but it turned out to be I don't know cos I haven't measured his foot yet, he is at school. I'll tell you when he gets home from school.

I did a ghost poem. It was ugly. I like Halloween but I don't believe in it. haha. It was a cinquain poem, but i've forgotten what that means.

We have been learning about Ancient Greece. Today we are going to play a game that the Greeks play at Easter. We have to dye eggs red and then hold them in your hand and bang them against other people's eggs. If your egg is the last to crack you win and you have good luck for the rest of the year.

We made a papier mache Greek vase. It was hard. I blew up a balloon and then when we started making it, it popped. Mum had a heart break. We had to start all over again. We used newspaper and we made glue out of water and flour. I loved putting my hands in the glue. When it is dry im going to paint it.

In Ancient Greece they had slaves.
They went to bed early cos they didnt have any electricity.
They had wars - Sparta and Athens
Mens rooms had couches and tables of food, they sat around and the slaves kept giving them more food.
In the Woman's rooms they weaved clothes and spun wool.

Week 8

I went to Mt Wellington and climbed some big rocks. It was really fun. I saw lots of lizards and we took lots of photos.

Auntie Stasia surprised us by coming back to Australia and she gave us presents. She gave us a puzzle. It was a map of Sri Lanka. It was really fun to do.

The word puzzle that we did was fun. You got a picture and then you had to find the letters that spelt the picture and put them together.

I had to write adjectives about me. It was hard. I said that I was famous and silly.

It was a fun week.
